  39. Yep, these are not commercial grade devices. Most lenses for cameras cost 2-3 times 
  40. the cost of the VX1000. But there is a digital IEEE 1394 Serial Bus Port which allows 
  41. digital input and output without the analog stages being involved.

  43. Sony purposly crippled these machines so as not to eat into their commercial devices.

  45. Having said all that, these digital camcorders totally blow away anything else in 
  46. their price ranges. After all, price/performance is what it's all about. If you've 
  47. got enough money, you can get all the performance you want. If you don't, these 
  48. machines will do quite nicely.
